Porcelain Veneers Brisbane

What Are Porcelain Veneers?

Porcelain veneers are custom-built, porcelain shells. After they are carefully created in our dental lab to fit your tooth perfectly, our dentist permanently bonds this shell to the front surface of your natural tooth.

Veneers are an extremely conservative treatment, often requiring only minimal reshaping of your natural tooth surface.

Dr. Zaheer offers porcelain veneers as well as bonded composite veneers to our patients who are looking to close gaps, treat discoloured teeth, or restore their natural smile.

Porcelain is a strong and durable material, and with proper care, veneers can last for many years. Anyone who is unhappy with their smile could be a good candidate for veneers, particularly if you have healthy gums, good oral hygiene and good bone structure. Book your FREE consultation today and transform your smile with high-quality porcelain veneers in Brisbane.

Porcelain Veneers Process at Springfield Dental

Free Consultation

Your dentist will begin by examining your teeth, gums, and overall oral health to ensure veneers are the right choice for you. This is also the time to discuss your smile goals, whether it’s fixing chips, covering stains, or creating a more even appearance.

Treatment Planning

A personalised treatment plan is created based on your needs. Together with your dentist, you’ll choose the shape, size, and shade of your veneers to make sure they blend naturally with your existing teeth and achieve the look you want.

Tooth Preparation

To make room for the veneers, a very thin layer of enamel is carefully removed from the front surface of each tooth being treated. This step is quick, and in most cases, only minimal enamel is taken away to ensure a comfortable fit without altering the natural look of your teeth.

Impressions and Temporary Veneers

Once your teeth are prepared, precise impressions are taken and sent to a dental laboratory where your custom veneers are crafted. While waiting, temporary veneers may be placed to protect your teeth and give you an idea of how your new smile will look.

Veneer Placement

At your final appointment, your dentist will check the fit, colour, and shape of each veneer before permanently bonding them to your teeth. Small adjustments are made to ensure comfort and a natural appearance, and the veneers are polished for a smooth, lifelike finish.

Aftercare and Follow-Up

Once your veneers are in place, your dentist will give you tips on caring for them, including good oral hygiene and regular dental check-ups. With proper care, veneers can last many years while keeping your smile bright and confident.

How Dental Veneers Are Made At Springfield Dental

Your dental veneers are artfully crafted in our in-house ceramics lab. Our master ceramists design ultra-thin porcelain veneers that look and feel like natural teeth. By managing every step of the process ourselves, we ensure your smile is crafted with precision, while keeping costs lower for you and speeding up the process. If any customisation is needed, it can be done during your check-up visit. We use the latest technology and only the highest quality materials to design your porcelain veneers.

We place high-quality veneers that are approved by the TGA (Therapeutic Goods Administration) and comply with ADA (Australian Dental Association) standards. Implant crowns and bridges are crafted locally in our in-house dental lab (not sent to an overseas lab) using 100% Australian materials. We are QIP-accredited clinics, our veneer procedures are subject to strict safety and quality standards.

Porcelain Veneers versus Composite Veneers

It’s important to consider which type of veneers will best suit your needs before you commit to the procedure, particularly because porcelain veneers are permanent. Porcelain veneers and composite veneers have a number of differences between them that may affect your decision.

Porcelain Veneers versus Composite Veneers

The differences between porcelain and composite veneers includes:

  • Composite veneers are faster to apply
  • Porcelain veneers are more expensive, but they last longer
  • Composite veneers are not as strong as porcelain veneers
  • If porcelain veneers are damaged, they cannot be repaired and will need to be replaced
  • Porcelain veneers look more natural in terms of their ability to catch the light
  • Porcelain veneers are stain resistant whereas composite veneers will stain like normal teeth
  • Porcelain veneers are not reversible

Porcelain veneers are generally a better option because they are stronger and longer-lasting, offering better value for money. They are also more natural looking than composite veneers. The downside of getting porcelain veneers is that it is a permanent procedure, whereas composite veneers can be removed or repaired if need be.
